Associate Litigation Attorney

Attorney PositionSeeking an Attorney to join its Overland Park, Kansas office. The attorney will primarily handle Kansas foreclosure matters from service through the judgment phase, including contested matters.Key ResponsibilitiesThe attorney will handle Kansas foreclosure matters from service through the judgment phase, including contested mattersManage Kansas foreclosure matters from service through judgment.Handle contested matters and related litigation.Prepare, draft, and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.Conduct legal research and analyze applicable Kansas laws, statutes, and court procedures.Appear in Kansas courts for hearings and other proceedings.Develop litigation strategies and effectively advocate for clients.Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.Manage an assigned caseload and ensure matters progress efficiently.Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedural requirements.Collaborate with attorneys and legal support staff to effectively manage cases.Required QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Active Kansas bar license with at least two years of licensure.Meaningful courtroom experience in Kansas.Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Willingness to obtain Missouri bar licensure if not already licensed in Missouri.The ideal candidate will have at least two years of Kansas bar admission and meaningful courtroom experience in Kansas.Preferred QualificationsDirect foreclosure or mortgage litigation experience.Creditors' rights or creditor-side litigation experience.Civil or commercial litigation experience.Experience handling contested matters, hearings, motions, or trials.Experience with collections, judgment enforcement, bankruptcy, real estate litigation, or related practice areas.Familiarity with Kansas state court procedures.Missouri bar admission is a plus.Direct foreclosure experienceStrong courtroom experience in Kansas.Attorneys with a solid Kansas litigation background who have handled creditors' rights, civil litigation, collections, commercial litigation, real estate disputes, or other contested matters will be considered.OpportunityFull-time position based in Overland Park, Kansas.Opportunity to handle substantive Kansas litigation and foreclosure matters.Opportunity to expand expertise in foreclosure and creditors' rights.Collaborative professional environment.Opportunity to develop a strong practice involving contested matters and courtroom advocacy.
