Our client is seeking two Desktop Support Technicians to join their IT Support team. This role will support a large-scale deployment of Lenovo Tab K12 devices to caregivers in the field while also providing desktop and end-user support across the organization. The IT support team consists of seven technicians providing Tier 1-3 support for employees, caregivers, and patients nationwide. The team manages escalated tickets from the outsourced Service Desk, delivers remote support to users across the United States, and provides hands-on support at the corporate headquarters in Columbia, MD.

Environment

• Primarily Microsoft environment
• Lenovo laptops and tablets
• Limited Apple Mac support
• Extensive Chromebook environment with 8,000+ devices deployed nationwide
• Chromebooks are used in patient homes and configured to run a single healthcare application
• Devices utilize SIM and eSIM technology for connectivity, including support for rural locations with limited internet access
• Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, PowerShell, and Intune is highly preferred

Responsibilities

The team operates on a rotating model, allowing technicians to gain experience across multiple support functions.

Device Imaging & Configuration

• Image, configure, and prepare laptops, tablets, and Chromebooks for deployment
• Support hardware lifecycle management and device readiness

Deployment Support

• Coordinate and execute device deployments for new hires and replacement devices
• Assist users during device setup to ensure a smooth onboarding experience
• Support weekly deployment activities for approximately 30-40 employee devices and 100+ Chromebooks

Hardware Support & Asset Management

• Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues
• Decommission and recycle equipment
• Manage device inventory and logistics

End User Support

• Provide white-glove support to employees at the corporate campus
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, access, and connectivity issues
• Support remote users throughout the United States
• Resolve common Chromebook and healthcare application issues reported by caregivers

Ticket Resolution

• Manage and resolve escalated support tickets from the Service Desk
• Utilize knowledge base articles and troubleshooting procedures to diagnose issues
• Deliver a high level of customer service while supporting a diverse user base

Training

New technicians will spend time learning each support function before joining the team's regular rotation, providing exposure to imaging, deployments, hardware support, and ticket resolution.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
