Remote Coding Team Lead

Supporting a remote coding team, the full-time Coding Team Lead will mentor coders, manage escalated cases, and ensure accurate abstraction and coding of surgical procedures while demonstrating expertise in ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines. Key responsibilities Serves as the primary source for coder inquiries and reviews documentation for compliance Abstracts and codes surgical procedures, applying appropriate modifiers and managing complex edits and denials Analyzes data, provides reports for management, and collaborates on playbook development and updates Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Medical records experience required Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines Ability to work independently and self-motivate on new projects Knowledge of coding requirements for anesthesia providers and care team structures
