Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer Location: Seguin, Texas (78155) Job Type: Full-time Experience: 2+ years License: Texas Dual License (Required) Tres Hewell Mortuary is a trusted, family‑owned establishment serving Seguin and the Guadalupe County community. We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and dedicated Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer to join our team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for guiding families through the arrangement process, conducting services, and performing all aspects of embalming and preparation. Key Responsibilities Family Care: Meet with families to arrange funeral services, providing guidance with compassion, empathy, and attention to detail. Embalming & Preparation: Perform embalming, dressing, cosmetics, and casketing of the deceased with the highest standard of professionalism. Funeral Direction: Direct and coordinate visitations, funeral services, and graveside services. Administrative Compliance: File death certificates, permits, and other legal documents accurately with local and state authorities. First Call & Removals: Take death calls and make removals in a professional, timely manner. Facility Maintenance: Ensure the preparation room, vehicles, and funeral home facilities are maintained to high cleanliness standards. Community Engagement: Represent the funeral home in the Seguin community. Qualifications Licensure: Must possess a valid Texas Dual License (Funeral Director and Embalmer) in good standing with the Texas Funeral Service Commission. Education: Graduate of an accredited Mortuary Science program. Experience: Experience in funeral directing and embalming is preferred. Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in computer systems. Physical Ability: Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs, and assist in lifting/moving deceased persons. Requirements: Clean driving record and valid Texas driver’s license. Flexibility: Willingness to work on-call, evenings, and weekends.
