Supervisory HR Specialist (Military)

This position serves within the Military Personnel Division as senior advisor to the MILPERS Assistant Director across OSD and 11 Defense Agencies. Directs military HR operations, military reserve manning, standardizes best business practices, and develops policy to ensure mission continuity and cross-service alignment. In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to: Apply advanced military HR principles to analyze new legislative decisions for their impact on organizational missions and to resolve complex, sensitive, and controversial assignment issues.; Screen, validate, and audit cross-service military nomination packages against DoD and joint directives, security standards, and Joint Duty Assignment (JDA) eligibility requirements across all Military Departments.; Use qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve complex management processes, including designing and conducting comprehensive management studies and preparing solutions for broad management problems. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Active duty members that fail to provide a valid "certification" of service with their initial application will be found "not eligible". Members may be appointed before the effective date of their military retirement/separation if they are on terminal leave.
