Job Title: Workers Compensation Plant Representative II Job Description

This role focuses on analyzing and managing complex or technically challenging workers’ compensation claims in a plant-based environment. You will handle a full caseload, ensure high-quality customer service, and drive timely, cost-effective claim resolutions while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with state requirements.

• Analyze and process complex or technically difficult workers’ compensation claims by investigating and gathering all relevant information to determine claim exposure.
• Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation claims, including cases of increased severity, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and execute well-structured action plans for each claim to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution.
• Calculate and assign appropriate claim reserves promptly and manage reserve adequacy throughout the life of each claim.
• Calculate and pay benefits due, approve and make timely claim payments and adjustments, and settle claims within designated authority levels.
• Prepare and submit required state filings within statutory deadlines to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management when needed.
• Use cost containment techniques, including strategic vendor partnerships, to reduce overall claim costs.
• Manage claim recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund excess recoveries, and Social Security and Medicare offsets.
• Report applicable claims to excess carriers as required.
• Communicate claim activity, status updates, and processing details clearly and professionally with claimants and clients.
• Ensure claim files are thoroughly and accurately documented, and verify that claim coding is correct.
• Refer cases to supervisors or management when they exceed authority levels or require additional oversight.
• Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a focus on quality claims handling and loss cost management in a plant environment.

• 3–5 years of workers’ compensation claims management experience.
• Proven experience handling workers’ compensation lost time claims.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a full caseload, including claims of increased severity.
• Strong skills in workers’ compensation claims processing and claims handling.
• Proficiency in calculating and assigning claim reserves and managing reserve adequacy.
• Ability to calculate and pay benefits, make claim payments and adjustments, and settle claims within authority levels.
• Experience preparing and submitting state filings within statutory limits.
• Ability to coordinate vendor referrals for investigations and litigation management.
• Knowledge of cost containment techniques and strategic use of vendors to control claim costs.
• Experience managing claim recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund excess recoveries, and Social Security and Medicare offsets.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on quality claims handling and client communication.
• Attention to detail in documenting claim files and ensuring accurate claims coding.
• Completed high school diploma.

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Experience working in a plant-based or industrial environment.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims and deadlines effectively.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with claimants, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate or refer cases to management.
• Comfort using claims management systems and related tools for documentation and reporting.

This is a fully onsite, plant-based position working 100% at the designated plant location. The role operates in a production facility environment, requiring regular in-person interaction with plant personnel and other onsite stakeholders. You will work with standard claims management systems and office technology within the plant setting while supporting quality claims handling and loss cost management directly at the facility.

This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY.

The pay range for this position is $28.87 - $28.87/hr.
