Position Summary Assist the store manager with daily tasks, serve as supervisor in their absence, maximize financial performance and achieve growth and sales targets by managing and motivating the sales team. Management experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, First Place, Act, and Intranet. Experience directing or participating on project teams. Minimum Position Qualifications/Education High‑school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 6 months Fred Meyer experience and 1 year of jewelry sales experience, or equivalent education and experience. Minimum age 18. Ability to pass a drug test. Maintain confidentiality. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and manage projects. Completion of Diamond Council of America (DCA) courses within one year of hire. Essential Job Functions Model Customer 1st behavior and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Maintain profitability through sales, shrink, and expense control. Achieve personal sales targets by transforming customers’ life moments into celebrations with fine jewelry. Support the store manager in training and development of sales professionals and onboarding new team members. Drive sales through credit applications, protection plans, and Diamond Design Parties. Foster lifelong emotional connections with customers through clienteling. Coordinate operations functions and display merchandise per corporate plans. Advise customers on quality, cuts, and value of jewelry and assist in selecting settings. Provide product knowledge and benefits when presenting merchandise. Estimate repairs, inspect, and clean customer jewelry; perform watch battery replacements and band adjustments. Suggest designs for custom jewelry and follow receiving and processing procedures. Maintain inventory levels and ordering system integrity. Maintain daily and weekly sales reports and take appropriate action. Respond to customer comments and complaints; complete incident reports. Participate in inventory processes and case counts. Assist with time and attendance processing and develop staff schedules. Assist with special maintenance arrangements. Work flexible shifts, including holidays and overtime. Travel to other store locations for backup coverage as needed.
