Job Title: Bakery Operator 

Department : Production

Reports to : Production Manager (s)

Pay Rate : $20 - $21 per hour

Location: Elmsford, Westchester County, NY

Role:   Do you have experience working in a commercial bakery, food manufacturing plant, production facility, or packaging operation?We are recruiting motivated and dependable employees for opportunities with a commercial bakery in Westchester County, NY. Candidates are being considered for the role as  Baker Operator with responsibilities to include operating industrial ovens and baking equipment, loading and unloading breads, bagels, cakes, and other baked products, monitoring baking times and temperatures, inspecting products for quality, and ensuring products are baked to the required specifications. Candidates from surrounding Westchester communities, the Bronx, and nearby areas are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, have strong attention to detail, and follow all food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.  Commercial bakery experience is a plus, but candidates with food  manufacturing , production, packaging, or other relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to) : 

• Execute baking processes for a diverse product line, including bagels, challah, sponge cakes, cookies, and pastries 
• Organize and prepare the baking department daily to ensure maximum  efficiency and productivity.
• Perform the setup, breakdown of machinery, including specialized depositor equipment; troubleshoot minor issues as needed.
• Maintain accurate reporting on all work orders, lot codes, and product yields
• Demonstrate flexibility by assisting other departments based on fluctuating production volumes and management directives.  

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of performing duties consistently in high-temperature oven rooms and periodic cold-storage environments.
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions throughout a full shift.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• May need to squat, reach, bend, pull, push, or perform other physical tasks during a shift.
• Consistently arrives at work on time and maintains regular attendance.
