This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive quality mindset to drive automation strategy, improve testing efficiency, end-end testing coordination and ensure seamless delivery in a fast-paced agile environment.The ideal candidate will mentor automation engineers, lead End-End Testing, define testing strategies, QA lab maintenance and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-quality software while continuously improving QA processes.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and grow a team of QA Automation Engineers.Promote a strong QA mindset: “Build together, break together, and continuously improve.”Foster collaboration between QA, development, product, and business teams.Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and quality ownership.Maintain the QA Lav environmentAutomation Strategy & ExecutionDefine and implement scalable test automation strategies and frameworks.Guide the team in building automation frameworks from scratch where needed.Ensure best practices in test automation, including maintainability, scalability, and reusability.Oversee test coverage across UI, API, and performance testing layers.Quality Engineering & TestingContribute to user story definition, ensuring testability and risk mitigation.Identify business risks and ensure they are addressed through testing strategies.Review and approve test plans, test cases, and test execution reports.Drive adoption of TDD, BDD (Gherkin) practices across teams.Lead the overall End-End Testing of Store Systems team and coordinate the efforts across internal and external teams, as needed.Agile & Process ExcellenceActively participate in SCRUM ceremonies and ensure QA integration in Agile workflows.Define and enforce quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.Continuously improve QA processes and efficiency through automation and tooling.Technology & DevOps IntegrationEnsure integration of test automation within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar).Oversee usage of testing tools such as:Selenium WebDriverCypressKarateJMeterGuide implementation of cloud-based testing solutions using:AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch)Align QA practices with modern web applications built using Node.js and MongoDB.Required QualificationsExperience10+ years of overall QA experience with at least:6+ years in QA Automation4+ years in a QA leadership or managerial roleHands-on experience in building automation frameworks from scratch.Strong background in web application testing and development.Required Technical SkillsProgramming & DevelopmentStrong expertise in at least one programming language:JavaScript, Java, C#, or similarExperience with modern web technologies and architectures.Automation ToolsHands-on experience with:Selenium WebDriverCypressKarateJMeter (performance testing)Cloud & Backend TechnologiesMinimum 2 years experience with:MongoDBNode.jsAWS (Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch)DevOps & CI/CDExperience with:Jenkins or similar CI/CD toolsPipeline design and implementationIntegrating automation into CI/CD workflows.Testing PracticesStrong knowledge of:Test case design and test planningTDD, BDD (Gherkin)Risk-based testingSoft SkillsStrong leadership and people management skills.Creative, out-of-the-box thinker—especially in solving complex quality challenges.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Collaborative team player with cross-functional alignment capabilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience working on large-scale retail or store technology systems.Exposure to distributed systems or microservices-based architecture.Familiarity with performance and security testing practices.Success MetricsImproved automation coverage and reduced manual testing effort.Faster release cycles with high quality.Reduction in production defects and business-impacting issues.High team engagement and skill growth.If an hourly or salary range is included in this ad it represents the range 7-Eleven in good faith believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
