Data Entry Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to support clinical research data management activities. This role is responsible for entering, maintaining, auditing, and analyzing data while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity across multiple databases and reporting systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in oncology clinical research, EPIC medical records, and high-volume data entry. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with research and administrative teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter data from source documents into databases and computer systems.
• Verify data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Establish and maintain complex record-keeping procedures and filing systems.
• Manage and maintain databases while ensuring data integrity.
• Integrate data from multiple sources and identify meaningful information from complex datasets.
• Utilize computer applications to manipulate, analyze, and report data.
• Develop tools and resources to support data collection and analysis efforts.
• Collaborate with data providers to resolve discrepancies, ambiguities, and data quality issues.
• Perform quality assurance reviews and audits of data and documentation.
• Apply appropriate formulas, software applications, and reporting tools based on project requirements.
• Provide administrative support as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Approximately one year of experience in oncology clinical research preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong data entry and database management skills.
• Experience working with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills.
• Proficiency with computer applications and database systems.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and basic analytical reasoning.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting oncology clinical research studies.
• Knowledge of clinical research data collection and management processes.
• Experience conducting data audits and quality control reviews.
• Familiarity with healthcare documentation and medical records systems.
