Position: Registered Nurse - Home Health

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a home health position. In this role, you will coordinate and direct the provision of home nursing care based on physician's orders, in accordance with agency policies and procedures. The successful candidate will apply the nursing process competently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive home nursing care as directed by physician orders.
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
• Conduct home visits and address patient needs effectively.
• Complete all required documentation within 24 hours of patient visits.
• Participate in periodic office meetings and collaborate with the clinical manager.

Travel Requirements

This position involves travel to patients' homes within a mileage radius of up to 75 miles. A reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license are required. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS standard rate, and the contractor will be compensated for travel between patient homes. Commuting to and from the first and last patient visit is not considered billable time.

Patient Load

A typical workload consists of managing 5 to 10 patients per day, equating to approximately 6 to 8 points daily. Each visit and activity holds a different point value, with a weekly expectation of 30 points.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent Adult Home Health or Hospice experience.
• Current CPR and BLS certifications.
• Proficiency in HomeCare HomeBase and OASIS systems is essential. Candidates must have utilized these systems within the past 6 months or be willing to complete retraining.

Contract Details

• Contract assignment duration: 13 weeks.
• Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Weekend rotation varies by location, with potential on-call responsibilities every 4th or 5th week.

Location

The contractor will primarily cover the region of Lee County, Macon County, and Russell County, with the main office located in Opelika, AL.

Expectations

• Understand and accept all patients scheduled, regardless of distance between appointments.
• Complete all documentation accurately and within required time frames.
• No guaranteed hours; the clinician must meet productivity expectations to ensure financial viability.
