Detailed job description and main responsibilities The Maintain your accountability within the role in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council code (NMC), stating you must work together for the safeguarding and wellbeing of the public. Supervise, educate, train and develop the workforce within your area of responsibility. To be accountable and responsible for the delivery of high standards of care in your area. Act as an advocate for patients at all time, to ensure the highest levels of care are delivered. Deputise for the Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader to cover the management of the ward or clinical unit in their absence as and when required in conjunction with the Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader provide effective Clinical leadership. In conjunction with the Sister/Charge Nurse be responsible for the delivery of High standards of nursing care to all patients in conjunction with the Sister/Charge Nurse be accountable and responsible for the clinical standards of care delivered within the service area and for leading and managing the department.
