Position Summary

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating the transportation of freight between shippers and carriers while ensuring exceptional customer service, on-time delivery, and operational efficiency. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, carriers, and internal teams, managing shipments from pickup through delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily freight shipments across multiple transportation modes.
• Source and secure qualified carriers while negotiating competitive rates and ensuring service quality.
• Monitor shipments from dispatch through delivery, proactively identifying and resolving transportation issues.
• Communicate shipment status updates to customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and carrier partners.
• Verify carrier compliance, insurance, safety ratings, and required documentation.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment information within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Review shipping documents, invoices, and proof of delivery (POD) for accuracy and completeness.
• Resolve service failures, delays, detention, lumper fees, and accessorial charges promptly.
• Collaborate with sales representatives to support customer accounts and identify opportunities for improved service.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and customer requirements.
• Analyze shipment performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Assist with carrier onboarding and performance management initiatives.
