Physician Assistant Or Nurse PractitionerPremier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a dedicated and skilled APP to support a Hand, Wrist & Elbow Surgeon in the clinic and occasionally in the OR as a First Assist.Responsibilities:Perform initial evaluations of new patients, post-op patients, and follow up patients along with the supervising physicianEvaluate and treatment post-op patients independently when supervising physician is awayDictate patient office note in Company HER systemPerform suture remove & provide dressingsOrder appropriate x-rays & review images with supervising physicianOrder other appropriate diagnostic studiesReview diagnostic reports to determine if patient needs to be seen sooner than already scheduledAlert patients of any urgent resultsOrder medications (Must have DEA license)Search Pennsylvania Drug Monitoring program prior to prescribing any narcoticsEducate patients about condition and post-op course/treatmentAnswer patient phone calls pertaining to medical questions/concernsCoordinate patient care needs with administrative members of team and assist as needed with administrative tasksCommunicate with other medical specialists involved with patient's care including occupational therapists, trainers and physiciansFirst-assist in surgerySuture deep and superficial woundsQualifications:Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA Cert.Bachelor's degree required.Licenses & Certifications:Active and unrestricted Pennsylvania Physician Assistant (or eligibility to obtain).Experience:Minimum of 1 year as a Physician Assistant with Shoulder OR Experience.Familiarity with Athena or other EMR systems preferred.Compensation & Benefits:Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans100% employer-paid life insurance401(k) retirement plan with employer Safe Harbor contribution and additional discretionary profit sharingGenerous paid sick and vacation time7 paid holidays annuallyOpportunities for growth and advancementEmployee referral reward programAbout Premier Orthopaedics & Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder:Premier Orthopaedics and Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center (PHSC) are leading providers of comprehensive musculoskeletal care throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
