Cash Application Analyst I

DescriptionKforce has a client in Nashville, TN that is seeking a Cash Application Analyst to support cash application, reconciliation, and reporting activities for news stations This role is responsible for accurately applying customer payments, resolving unapplied cash, processing credit/debit memos, and supporting the daily and month-end close process. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail and experience working with checks, wire transfers, and payment remittances.Key Responsibilities:* Apply cash payments (wires, checks, credit cards) to customer accounts for CBS TV Stations* Create credit/debit memos to adjust AR for chargebacks, refunds, and misapplied cash* Partner with the Collections team to apply cash to the correct invoices* Prepare daily cash received reports and balance daily cash receipt accounts, including G/L journal entries* Work with Treasury to identify and resolve unknown wire transfers* Ensure unapplied payments are researched and resolved timely* Process manual credit card transactions, wires, and over-the-counter deposits* Post sundry receivables from the miscellaneous lockbox* Support month-end close activities and respond to station inquiries and backup requests* Assist with internal/external audits and special AR projects as neededRequirements* 1-2 years of Accounting or Accounts Receivable experience* Experience or knowledge of checks, wire transfers, and payment remittance processing* Strong attention to detail and accuracy* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Ability to manage high transaction volumes in a fast-paced environment.* Excellent organizational and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:* Oracle or other ERP system experience.* Experience supporting month-end close and audit activities.Key Skills:* Cash Application* Accounts Receivable* Wire Transfers & Check Processing* Payment Remittance* Credit/Debit Memos* Journal Entries* Bank Reconciliation* Lockbox Processing* Month-End Close* Audit Support* Microsoft Excel* ERP Systems (Oracle preferred)Job TypeContractCompensation20 - $22
