Overview ABA Technician / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Verbal Beginnings is a leading Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy provider serving children diagnosed with autism. We provide extensive training to anyone interested in learning about ABA therapy and autism and have a passion for working with children! Schedule, Location and Compensation: When: Sessions typically occur 3-5 days per week for 2-3 hours, most often during after school hours between 3pm-8pm Where: Sessions typically occur in the child’s natural environment (in the child’s home, community, and/or school). Responsibilities What does my day look like as a Behavior Technician (BT)/Registered Behavior Technician (RBT): ABA Technicians work under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized treatment plans to address communication, behavior, feeding, ADLs, and social skills. The ABA Technician / Registered Behavior Technician Collects and records data to monitor the progress of a treatment plan and works in collaboration with the clinical supervisor to update the treatment plan as necessary Qualifications Attributes and qualifications needed to be successful in this role: We are looking for individuals who have experience working as a Behavior Technician, ideally holding an active RBT certification Experience working with children with high intensity behaviors/aggression Patience, compassion and the desire to help children with autism achieve their goals Genuine desire to learn about Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy Ability to work independently and collaborate with others High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree (completed or in progress) preferred Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that an employee must be able to meet to successfully perform the essential functions of the role. Ability to interact effectively by speaking clearly, using age-appropriate language, and maintaining attention through verbal and non-verbal communication.
