Work Environment

Your clinical practice will primarily be onsite in an assisted living facility, allowing you to interact closely with a diverse patient population requiring specialized dermatological care. Here, you will engage with senior residents who often have unique dermatological needs due to age-related skin changes. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including obtaining complete medical histories and performing physical examinations to identify dermatological conditions.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic skin disorders, developing tailored treatment plans to address individual patient needs.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies and imaging necessary for dermatologic evaluation.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment protocols based on evidence-based practices and patient-specific data.
• Utilize your expertise to educate patients on skin care best practices, preventive measures, and self-care strategies to promote overall health.
• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care and seamless service delivery.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient encounters, ensuring compliance with electronic medical records (EMR) requirements and regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve elderly residents of the assisted living facility. Many of these patients face age-related skin challenges, including but not limited to, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancers, and other dermatologic ailments. Your ability to provide empathetic and specialized care will be essential in enhancing their comfort and quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus on dermatology or a related specialty is required.
• A valid Nurse Practitioner license in any state is obligatory, with a preference for Texas licensure.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in medical dermatology is essential to ensure a high level of patient care.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital for effective patient interaction and coordination with the healthcare team.
• Ability to operate both autonomously and collaboratively, demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems for efficient patient documentation and management.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an assisted living or similar healthcare environment is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this full-time position ranges from USD 150,000 to USD 250,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
