Retail Relationship Banker

Job Overview Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying their needs and providing advice on personal banking, lending, investment and small‑business solutions. Work collaboratively within the branch and across channels to achieve business objectives, grow loyalty, and enhance the overall customer experience. Responsibilities Identify customer needs and provide best‑interest advice on financial products and digital options. Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects, conducting needs assessments and generating appointments. Support customer transactions and assist with cash management and loan application processes. Apply risk management frameworks, conduct quality checks, and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and lending‑policy requirements. Represent the bank as a key member of the branch and market team, collaborating across departments and potentially working at multiple branches. Maintain accurate, complete work records and pursue continuous improvement of customer experience. Identify and report suspicious activity related to money laundering and comply with all applicable legal and ethical standards. Handle escalations, analyze issues, and determine next steps as needed. Qualifications Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience or a post‑secondary degree in a related field. Registration to sell investment products (Canada) and appropriate lending qualifications/designations. Working knowledge of personal and small‑business banking needs, retail investments and lending products. Experience in a consultative customer‑service or sales role. Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools. Strong interpersonal, listening and problem‑solving skills. Ability to build rapport, collaborate in a team, and thrive in a consultative, results‑driven environment. Resourceful self‑starter with courage and confidence to approach customers.
