Title: Designer/ Product Developer

Reports To: Director of Product Development

Experience and Skills Required:

\n
• 1-2 years previous accessories product development (optical/eyewear experience preferred)
\n
• Sourcing experience in China
\n
• Strong design sensibility and understanding of fashion trends
\n
• Experience with better/premium level product
\n
• Experience developing a concept from scratch, including the design of the product
\n

Main Responsibilities:

\n
• Manage the development of several ophthalmic/ sun frame collections:
\n
• Specialty Optical collections
\n
• Diffusion Brand collections
\n
• Retail Sunglass collections
\n
• Private label collections
\n
• New Pitches for Key Accounts
\n
• Design and develop products from scratch, meeting the brand objectives set forth by the licensor, key account, and the market needs
\n
• Primary sourcing contact with suppliers
\n
• Pricing of new models
\n
• Manage calendar for on-time execution
\n
• Analyze sales results to develop next collection
\n
• Interface effectively w/ marketing to deliver on-message product for each brand
\n
• Data entry and maintenance for models to purchase
\n

Additional Responsibilities:

\n
• Develop Product Training documents as needed for key accounts and/or sales team
\n
• Support in the execution of events including tradeshows, press events, and internal events. Trade Show Set Up—ability to lift 30lbs boxes
\n

Must Have Skills:

Product Development is 75% of the job so the following "must have" skills are mostly relevant to PD

• Ability to draw accessories in Illustrator
\n
• Technical understanding of CAD drawings including an ability to understand 3-D objects in a 2-D format (akin to engineering)
\n
• Efficient organizational systems and discipline in using them: work- flow tracking, timeline management, project details
\n
• Ability to carefully review product for quality and accurately identify and detail needed changes to a vendor
\n
• Precise and accurate written communication skills
\n
• Positive attitude with an ability to flex daily priorities without becoming overwhelmed
\n
• Strong people skills to foster good internal and external relationships
\n
• Strong negotiating skills and understanding of the relationship of price and product
\n

The position is based out of Tura US HQ. at 10 W. 37th St., 7th Floor (near 5th Ave.). This is not a remote position. The employee is expected to work in the office in order to effectively collaborate with the brand team.

Salary: $50,000 annually
