Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Therapist in Gilroy, CA

A rewarding opportunity awaits for skilled and passionate Speech Language Pathologists who are eager to make an impact in schools for the 2025-2026 academic year. Your expertise will support students from kindergarten through high school-assignments can be tailored to your experience and grade preferences. This is a full-time, in-person contract role, Monday through Friday, reporting to the Director of Special Education.
Ideal candidates possess experience in school settings and a genuine commitment to supporting children with special education needs. You'll build collaborative, positive relationships with students, educators, and families, infusing energy and encouragement into your daily practice.
Qualifications:
- Active California SLP license required
- Experience with SLP in healthcare, pediatrics, teletherapy, school, and/or SLPA work
- Prior school-based SLP experience strongly preferred
- Expertise in evaluation, assessment, and consultative processes for special education
- Familiarity with all phases of the special education identification process and IEP development
- Exceptional communication skills-active listening, two-way dialogue, and collaborative style
- Ability to bring positivity, fun, and professionalism to daily interactions
- Conduct screenings and comprehensive evaluations for students with speech and language concerns
- Provide direct therapy services and consultative support across elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Participate as a valued member of multidisciplinary IEP teams, sharing observations and recommendations
- Communicate effectively with staff, families, and external health agencies regarding student progress
- Support and advise teaching staff in the development of effective classroom language programs
This contract position offers a competitive pay rate (starting at $65/hour, depending on experience and caseload), comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, and a 401(k) plan.
