We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on VP, Corporate Controller to lead our global accounting and financial reporting organization as we continue to scale. The VP, Corporate Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the company's external and internal financial reporting. This individual will oversee SEC reporting, serve as a key partner to Investor Relations, set global technical accounting policy, own sustainability/ESG reporting, and provide oversight across product accounting, credit accounting, and operating expense/corporate cost accounting teams. This role requires a leader who can operate at both the strategic and technical level, translating complex accounting matters into clear guidance for the business, the Board, and external stakeholders.

Job Description

SEC Reporting & External Financial Reporting

• Own the preparation, review, and filing of all SEC reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and proxy statements, ensuring compliance with SEC rules, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage the quarterly and annual close and external reporting calendar, coordinating cross-functionally with Legal, Investor Relations, and external auditors.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors on financial statement audits, quarterly reviews, and technical accounting matters.
• Maintain and enhance disclosure controls and procedures, and support management's assessment of internal control over financial reporting (SOX/ICFR).
• Partner closely with Investor Relations on earnings releases, earnings call materials, investor presentations, and non-GAAP reconciliations.
• Provide technical accounting and financial reporting expertise to support investor and analyst inquiries.
• Support preparation of Board and Audit Committee materials related to financial performance and reporting matters.

Technical Accounting & Global Policy

• Set and maintain global technical accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across all business units and geographies.
• Research and document accounting positions for complex and emerging transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, credit losses/CECL, business combinations, equity, new products).
• Monitor emerging accounting standards (FASB/IASB) and lead impact assessments and implementation efforts for new pronouncements.
• Provide accounting guidance and training to business partners and finance teams globally.

Sustainability / ESG Reporting

• Own the company's sustainability and ESG reporting function, including data governance, controls, and disclosure in alignment with evolving regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEC climate disclosure rules, CSRD, ISSB/IFRS S1 & S2, GRI).
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, Risk, Sustainability, Operations) to ensure accurate collection, validation, and reporting of ESG metrics.
• Build scalable controls and processes over sustainability data comparable to financial reporting rigor.

Accounting Oversight

• Accounting for the company's processing products and platforms, credit products, credit allowances/CECL reserving and operating expenses, including partnering closely with the Company’s finance teams to understand and explain variances versus last year, forecast and budget.
• Support the Company’s US Bank information, including with accounting shared services.
• Oversee preparation and review of the consolidated balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
• Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across close and reporting processes.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing global accounting organization; manage senior accounting leaders across each functional area.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Active CPA license
• 12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including significant time in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and public company corporate accounting/reporting
• Deep expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements; public company reporting experience required
• Experience with financial services, fintech, or payments industry accounting matters (e.g., credit losses, CECL, financial instruments)
• Demonstrated experience partnering with Investor Relations and supporting external communications
• Experience building or maturing ESG/sustainability reporting programs
• Strong people leadership experience managing multiple accounting functions/teams, including global teams
• Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to executive leadership, Audit Committee, and Board

Preferred

• Prior experience as a Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, or similar senior reporting leader at a multi-billion dollar public company
• Experience with ERP and reporting systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday, NetSuite) and financial close/consolidation tools (e.g., OneStream, Blackline, HFM)
• MBA or advanced degree
• Experience with international/multi-entity consolidations

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
