Details 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU within a Level III Trauma Center Cares for adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30) with every-other-weekend requirement 36 or 48 hour contract options available 13-week assignment length Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg areas Uses EPIC EMR system Requirements Active Massachusetts RN license required (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted) AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required 2 years of continuous Adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU Must be able to read telemetry strips Telemetry competency required Additional Information Free on-site parking available Provide critical care nursing to a diverse adult ICU patient population Collaborate with attendings and residents present in the unit around the clock Flu vaccine required during flu season with no religious or medical exemptions allowed Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the area accepted at a reduced rate American Traveler Job ID P-742810.
