Pastiamo Osteria is an exciting new Italian restaurant opening in the vibrant Woodley Park neighborhood of Washington, DC.

We are seeking an experienced, charismatic, and hands-on Front of House Manager / Maître d’ to join our opening leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Front of House operations.
• Lead, train, and motivate the service team.
• Ensure exceptional guest experiences and service standards.
• Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and dining room flow.
• Maintain a strong presence on the restaurant floor.
• Build relationships with guests and develop a loyal neighborhood clientele.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve service concerns professionally.
• Coordinate service operations with the kitchen and bar teams.
• Assist with scheduling, labor management, and operational efficiency.
• Supervise opening and closing procedures.
• Support private dining events and special occasions.
• Maintain a polished, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment.
• Foster a positive, professional, and accountable team culture.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Front of House Manager, Maître d’, or comparable leadership position.
• Previous experience in upscale casual or high-volume full-service restaurants required.
• Italian restaurant experience strongly preferred.
• Proven leadership and staff development skills.
• Excellent guest relations and hospitality skills.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant service standards.
• Experience managing reservations and dining room operations.
• Knowledge of POS and restaurant reservation systems.
• Strong food, wine, and beverage knowledge.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional appearance and confident personality.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Full-time availability, including weekends and holidays.
