Join our team members who have strong work ethic, positive attitudes, and support each other through collaborative teamwork We pride ourselves in being compassionate and empathic to our patients and team Here's What You Need High School Diploma or Equivalent (required) Surgery Scheduling experience (strongly preferred) 2 Years related experience in Healthcare environment (preferred) Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism Requires strong customer skills Good communication skills A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Surgery Scheduling Specialist Process Schedules all inpatient and outpatient surgery and medical procedures, tests and studies ordered by the physician Coordinates, registers and schedule appointments for patients according to availability Conducts physician pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care Ensures all required tests needed prior to surgery are done Coordinates and ensures necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc., is arranged prior to scheduled procedure Schedules any necessary follow-up appointments Communicates and answers patients' questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival/departure instructions relative to procedure Performs other duties as assigned Additional perks of being a Texas Health employee Benefits include 401k, PTO, medical, dental, Paid Parental Leave, flex spending, tuition reimbursement, Student Loan Repayment Program as well as several other benefits.
