Billing Manager – Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care

Skilled nursing facility billing experience is required for this position.

As our Billing Manager , you will play a key role in ensuring accurate billing, strong collections, and timely reimbursement across our skilled nursing portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee billing and accounts receivable functions for skilled nursing operations.

• Manage accurate and timely billing for Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Private Pay, Hospice, and other payer sources .

• Review claims for accuracy and ensure clean, timely submissions.

• Monitor A/R aging, DSO, collections, denials, outstanding claims, and other key revenue cycle metrics .

• Identify reimbursement barriers and proactively drive accounts toward resolution.

• Manage claim denials, rejections, corrections, resubmissions, and appeals.

• Monitor Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

• Review remittance advice and EOBs for payment discrepancies, contractual adjustments, denials, and outstanding balances.

• Partner with facility Business Office Managers to resolve billing, eligibility, authorization, and collection issues.

• Support and educate facility teams on billing procedures, payer requirements, and revenue cycle best practices.

• Ensure month-end billing activity is completed accurately and within established deadlines.

• Assist with account reconciliations, credit balances, refunds, adjustments, and cash application discrepancies.

• Identify trends within accounts receivable and develop strategies to improve collections and reimbursement performance.

• Help develop and implement processes that strengthen revenue cycle performance across the organization.

• Support audits, reporting, reimbursement reviews, and other revenue cycle initiatives.

• Serve as a knowledgeable resource for facility and corporate leadership.

We are looking for someone who doesn't need an introduction to skilled nursing billing. You understand the terminology, the payer landscape, the deadlines, and the importance of getting reimbursement right.

Required:

• Previous Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care billing experience .

• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Private Pay, and third-party insurance billing .

• Experience with healthcare accounts receivable, collections, denials, and reimbursement.

• Understanding of SNF revenue cycle processes from billing through payment and collection.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical billing deadlines.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with facility and corporate leadership.

Preferred:

• Previous experience as a Billing Manager, Billing Supervisor, Regional Billing Specialist, Regional Business Office Manager, or similar LTC revenue cycle leader .

• Experience supporting multiple skilled nursing facilities.

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
