Candidates must be available to work onsite from Day 1. We are seeking an experienced Middleware AI Consultant with strong expertise in IBM WebSphere, JBoss, Java enterprise technologies, and middleware modernization. The ideal candidate will leverage Claude Code and AI-assisted techniques to assess applications, identify dependencies, evaluate migration feasibility, and develop modernization strategies. Key Responsibilities Assess WebSphere-based applications, middleware architecture, configurations, and dependencies. Identify WebSphere-specific dependencies, including EJBs, JMS, JNDI, security components, shared libraries, and custom configurations. Evaluate application complexity, migration feasibility, risks, and effort. Perform WebSphere-to-JBoss migration and modernization assessments. Use Claude Code for codebase analysis, dependency discovery, documentation, and technical debt identification. Validate AI-generated findings and recommendations. Develop migration roadmaps, prioritization strategies, and migration waves. Identify application portability, rationalization, and licensing optimization opportunities. Minimize application team involvement through AI-assisted assessment and automation. Required Skills IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 7.x-9.x and WebSphere ND. WebSphere administration, troubleshooting, security, and middleware architecture. Red Hat JBoss EAP and WebSphere-to-JBoss migration experience. Java SE / Java EE / Jakarta EE. EJB, JMS, JNDI, JDBC, IBM MQ, LDAP, and Active Directory. EAR, WAR, JAR, Maven, Gradle, Spring, REST, SOAP, and XML. Claude Code / AI-assisted codebase analysis. Python and Shell scripting. Application discovery, dependency analysis, complexity assessment, and modernization planning.
