Phlebotomist Float LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Bakersfield, CA. Work Schedule Monday to Friday hours vary between 6:00am-6:00pm; additional hours and rotating weekends may be required. Job Responsibilities Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups. Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc. Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely. Process billing information and collect payments when required. Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis. Maintain patient and specimen information logs. Provide superior customer service to all patients. Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary. Travel to additional sites when needed. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. California state–issued phlebotomy license (CPT). Preferred Qualifications At least one year of experience as a phlebotomist. Current or prior experience with LabCorp. Additional Job Standards In lieu of the state license requirement, an application for a phlebotomy license filed with the CA Department of Health at the time of hire may satisfy the requirement. Proficiency in Spanish and English. Six months or more phlebotomy experience with geriatric and pediatric patients. Pass a standardized color blindness test. At least 21 years of age. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Reliable transportation. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Exceptional customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Comfortable working under minimal supervision. Compensation Pay Range: $21.00–$33.00 per hour. Float Incentive: Additional $1.50 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. Quarterly Incentive Bonus Program: Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
