Employee Benefits Sales - Risk Advisor

Risk Advisor – Role Overview Relation Insurance is a leading, innovative insurance brokerage that offers employee benefits, business insurance and risk management services across the United States. We seek an experienced professional to strengthen our relationships with clients and support our growth. What We’re Looking For The Risk Advisor is responsible for new insurance account production and sales activities within assigned accounts. The individual in this position conducts research in the market and develops a base of business to educate, promote and sell insurance services, keeps current on business community activities to obtain leads for business development activities, and maintains and services a profitable book of insurance business for existing clients. A Glimpse Into Your Day Achieves annual new revenue objectives through consultative sales to new and existing clients. Exhibits thought leadership & industry engagement through associations and speaking panels. Develops an annual individual sales plan (ISP) with a pipeline coverage ratio of 5X to meet company metrics. Builds an active pipeline of qualified prospects through personal contacts, client referrals, prospect pursuit campaigns (PPCs), colleagues, and marketing sources. Documents new business activity in the appropriate systems. Appropriately closes new business, documenting won/loss outcomes for each client. Develops and presents recommendations to clients based on a consultative selling approach. Assesses & identifies risk issues, needs and possible uninsurable or difficult to insure exposures. Recommends technical services including loss control and claims advocacy programs with our in‑house teams. Seamlessly transitions sold clients to the client service/account management team. Builds a strategic and personal relationship with key decision makers. Communicates with leadership on market trends, competitor analysis, and business intelligence. Performs other projects, duties, and tasks as assigned. What Success Looks Like In This Role Life and Health License from the state of domicile required. Minimum of 2+ years of sales experience in the insurance industry focusing on Employee Benefits coverage. College degree preferred; preference given to experience in Risk Management. Strong networking and strategic vision for relationship building and utilization of Centers of Influence. Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills for in‑person and webinar sessions. In‑depth understanding of complex employee benefits lines of coverage. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Computer literate with ability to learn new software applications. Strong working knowledge of insurance markets, products, usage, rating and underwriting procedures. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. At Relation, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is presented within this posting.
