Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Location Kansas City, MO Unit Information Unit Name: 6 East Ortho/Trauma Number of Beds: 23 Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:5 Unit Staffing Description: Unit Secretary and PCTs available Type of Equipment: Traction, fixators, cooling equipment Documentation System: Meditech Scheduling Requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts, 3 weekend shifts per schedule period Floating Policy: Contract labor may float first to other MedSurg level of care units (General MS, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma) Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report, hourly rounding Qualifications Requested Skill Set: Must Have: RN license, BLS Certification Advanced Skills Needed: Ortho experience, Tele, NIH stroke scale familiarization Certifications Required: [Specify as needed] Responsibilities Care for post-operative patients including those recovering from knee, hip, and shoulder replacements Manage care for trauma patients and some neuro overflow cases Dress Code Navy scrubs are required.
