Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of at least two years of post-secondary coursework, an Associate’s Degree, or successful completion of the ParaEducator assessment
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential
• 1-2 years of experience working with children with disabilities is strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
• A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to student support

Responsibilities:

• Use ASL to facilitate communication and understanding for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Support classroom teachers in delivering instruction to individuals and small groups
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide academic and behavioral support tailored to the needs of each student
• Document student progress and communicate effectively with staff and families
• Help students develop self-advocacy and communication skills
