Mainframe Systems Analyst

Job Summary:

The Q008 - MSA role involves providing technical support and maintenance for mainframe systems including CheckWrite and ARP, which handle check writing and account reconciliation for the District. The position requires analyzing and resolving software and processing issues, implementing changes, and supporting legacy payroll and time reporting systems such as CAPPS and UPPS to ensure seamless financial operations. Responsibilities:

Perform technical research and analysis to resolve software issues affecting CheckWrite and ARP availability.
Analyze and address processing issues related to check production, reconciliation, and reporting from legacy systems.
Develop and implement code changes for requested or legally mandated system updates.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of CheckWrite and ARP processing errors for the Office of Finance and Treasury.
Assist with check cancellation procedures when the payment operations center cannot cancel checks in ARP.
Modify and customize CheckWrite and ARP systems as needed.
Prepare analysis reports, recommend solutions, and implement code modifications.

Required Skills & Certifications:

6 years of experience with COBOL, SPUFI, QMF, DB2, IDMS, VSAM, SQL, Easytrieve, FORTRAN, Basic, SAP/ABAP4, JCL, FTP, UC4.
6 years of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, and Visio.
6 years supporting online and batch execution, data screen maintenance, database updates, ABEND analysis and recovery, software maintenance/enhancement, and reporting.
6 years supporting CheckWrite, ARP, CAPPS, and UPPS systems.
6 years of experience with all facets of the System Development Life Cycle for mainframe applications.
6 years of experience with the technical design and flow of CheckWrite and ARP.
6 years of experience with the technical design of CAPPS and UPPS.
2 years of experience as an analyst skilled in problem solving.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience with legacy payroll and time reporting systems.
Familiarity with financial operations and treasury processes.

Special Considerations:

Must be able to respond promptly to issues impacting online system availability and check processing.
May require working with legally mandated changes and compliance requirements.

Scheduling:

Standard business hours with potential need for urgent support to maintain system availability.
