Deli And Food Prep Worker

Creative Dining Services is looking for a Deli and Food Prep worker at the Jackson National Life building located at the Okemos exit of I-96 in Lansing, MI. The Deli and Prep position works within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high-quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation, in a safe manner. Works cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-2:15pm with 1/2 unpaid break

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare food such that all food is ready for use within the established timeframe and according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal.
• Utilizes safe food handling techniques at all times.
• Stores food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating.
• Holds prepared food items at appropriate temperatures
• Maintains production records
• Maintains established logs
• Maintains a clean and sanitized work area.
• Maintains a safe, tidy and well-organized work environment at all times
• Communicates needs and concerns regarding food production and kitchen operation to supervisor appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Supports other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately.
• Assists in ordering and inventory procedures.
• Removes refuse as needed.
• Puts away/Pulls stock as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 1 year food service experience
