Head of Sales, Rail and Industrial Parts (United States)

Remote, US (Southeast or Midwest preferred) · Full-time · Travel about 40% · Base USD 130,000 to 150,000 plus uncapped commission You will be MettleArc's first salesperson in the United States, and you will carry the bag yourself. Your job is to sell: open new accounts, win the orders, and get customers buying from us, then buying again. Year one is rail, where our customers and AREMA leads are. Heavy equipment and mining come next, and experience there is welcome if you can also open rail doors. MettleArc supplies the parts that keep maintenance-of-way machines running: steel wheels, castings and forgings, plus rubber sweeper elements for ballast regulators and tampers. We are based in Alpharetta, Georgia, with warehouse arrangements in Atlanta and Savannah, and we already supply one of the major US MOW equipment manufacturers. We are investing in our partner foundries, and they have capacity for new work now. Why now At AREMA this year, buyers kept telling us the same thing: six to nine month lead times, suppliers who go quiet, and no second source they trust. We are building that second source: vetted plants in more than one country, stock near the machine, and quotes in hours. We run on AI, so a small team moves faster than suppliers many times our size. What you will do • Run every deal from first conversation to purchase order: quotes, trials, pricing, negotiation and the close • Turn our open conversations with machine builders, rental fleets and distributors into trials on customer machines, then repeat orders • Open new accounts across the United States, and tell us where to spend time and where not to • Get us approved as a supplier, working with engineers and parts managers • Own a first-year sales target you set with us, and beat it What success looks like • First 100 days: every open AREMA conversation followed up, the US market sized with us, trials started at five accounts and the first quotes out • First year: three or more new customers paying, our parts running on their machines, and reorders coming in What you bring • 7+ years selling engineered parts or equipment into rail, MOW, or a close neighbour such as heavy equipment or mining. You have carried a number and beaten it • Relationships at machine builders, lessors, dealers or short lines, and your first ten calls already in mind • Technical enough to read a drawing and talk material and fit with an engineer • Scrappy and quick on your feet: no team under you yet, no big brand opening doors • Comfortable doing business with AI tools every day • US work authorization without sponsorship What we offer • Base pay of USD 130,000 to 150,000, plus uncapped commission on gross margin, a first-year milestone bonus, a monthly benefits stipend and expenses • You work directly with the owners.
