Registered Nurse Navigator - Neuro Rehabilitation

Overview Registered Nurse (RN) Navigator – Neuro Rehabilitation Location: IU Health Neuroscience Center, Indianapolis, IN Position Overview: The Nurse Navigator coordinates care for patients, developing personalized care plans with patients and their primary care providers. Responsibilities include: Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of tests and treatments Advocating for patients and balancing their care needs with financial considerations Educating patients about the pain program; providing scheduled education about factors affecting chronic pain Triaging referred patients Managing care delivery across the patient care continuum for new patients Working with DME processing and management of orders Collaborating with and facilitating services to meet the needs of the Limb Loss Clinic Qualifications: Associate of Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program; 3-5 years of experience preferred Basic Life Support certification through the AHA required; advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty Specialty certifications may be required per unit/department specialty in accordance with department provision of care Knowledge of personal computers using various word processing and database software Clinical work experience, medical terminology, understanding of medical record requirements, regulations, and policies Experience with education and navigating complex conditions preferred Benefits include 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching, tuition reimbursement, government student loan forgiveness programs for eligible participants, employee assistance program for free counseling services, and health and wellness incentives through the Healthy Results program.
