Experienced Bartender

NOLA Restaurant is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable Bartender who can deliver great hospitality while working confidently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. We are looking for someone who knows more than how to follow a cocktail recipe. Our ideal bartender understands spirits, flavors, classic cocktails, substitutions, and how ingredients work together. You should be comfortable making recommendations, answering guest questions, and finding a great alternative when a requested spirit or ingredient is unavailable. What You'll Do Prepare cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages accurately and efficiently Provide knowledgeable recommendations based on guest preferences Confidently suggest substitutions or modifications when a particular spirit or ingredient is unavailable Understand how to adjust a cocktail while maintaining its flavor, balance, and quality Engage with guests and provide friendly, professional bar service Work quickly and accurately during high-volume service Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and service-ready bar Follow recipes, portion standards, and responsible alcohol service requirements Communicate product shortages, inventory needs, and operational concerns to management Support servers and other team members throughout service Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and restocking responsibilities What We're Looking For Previous bartending experience required Strong knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, beer, wine, and basic flavor profiles Able to recommend drinks based on what a guest likes rather than simply handing them a menu Comfortable suggesting appropriate substitutions and modifications Able to think and problem-solve when an ingredient or product is unavailable Fast, organized, and accurate during busy service Strong guest service and communication skills Dependable and punctual Professional and team-oriented Takes initiative without requiring constant direction Coachable and receptive to feedback Maintains composure and professionalism under pressure What We're Not Looking For We are not looking for someone who stops at “We don't have that.” An experienced NOLA bartender should be able to understand what the guest is looking for and confidently offer another option: “We don't have that particular ingredient tonight, but I can recommend something similar or modify the cocktail for you.” Product knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving are important parts of this position.
