The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. Within the Department of Epidemiology, researchers foster high-quality epidemiological research aimed at acquiring new knowledge related to endpoints across the cancer continuum, from risk through survivorship. The Data Analytics Specialist plays a critical role in supporting these efforts through advanced data analysis, research support, and analytical expertise. As a member of UT MD Anderson, the Data Analytics Specialist provides critical research and analytical expertise to advance division business goals and objectives. The Data Analytics Specialist works with complex datasets, supports scientific research initiatives, and contributes to data-driven decision making. The Data Analytics Specialist collaborates with researchers and stakeholders to transform data into meaningful insights that support the institution's mission. The ideal Data Analytics Specialist candidate will have a strong biostatistics background or significant experience as a biostatistician, with expertise in statistical analysis, modeling, and interpretation of complex research or healthcare data. Masters in Biostatistician Proficiency in R is highly desirable. A background in genomics and biomedical research is plus. Minimum: $37.26/hour • Midpoint: $46.63/hour • Maximum: $56.01/hour

Responsibilities
• Use data throughout the data pipeline, including data mining, data management, statistical analysis, and data presentation
• Data mine internal and external sources and convert raw data into usable and manageable formats
• Prepare raw data for storage, integration, and analysis
• Manage and organize data to support research and operational objectives
• Perform statistical analyses using appropriate analytical methodologies
• Develop key indicators and outcome-tracking metrics to evaluate performance and research objectives
• Collect, process, and analyze relevant data, trends, benchmarks, and outcome measures
• Create data visualizations and presentations that effectively communicate findings and insights
• Conduct literature research and synthesize information to support scientific and business initiatives
• Provide analytical support and data for publications, presentations, grant submissions, and award applications
• Prepare datasets, reports, charts, and summaries for annual reports and internal and external ad hoc reporting needs
• Collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to transform data into meaningful insights that advance departmental goals
• Apply biostatistical knowledge and analytical expertise to support epidemiological research activities
• Utilize R and/or Python to support data analysis, reporting, and research initiatives
• Support projects involving large and complex datasets, with genomics data experience considered a plus EDUCATION
• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, or related field
• Preferred: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, or related field WORK EXPERIENCE
• Required: Five years of experience in data analysis. Three years of experience in data analysis with a Master's degree
• Preferred: Strong biostatistics background or significant experience as a biostatistician. Proficiency in R is highly desirable. Background in genomics and biomedical research is a plus.
