Industrial Hygiene and Sanitation Technician

Your MissionProtect product integrity and food safety by cleaning and sanitizing production and packaging assets every day. You will work to SSOP, HACCP, FDA, GMP, and Safety standards—keeping the plant compliant and efficient. This position reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and can step in as the Supervisor’s backup when needed, including verifying technician task sheets and the sanitation schedule and providing direction to teammates.How You’ll Make an ImpactPicture this: a line finishes a run, including allergen-containing product. You step in to disassemble equipment, remove residues and debris, sanitize thoroughly, and reassemble. You verify results through visual inspection and established sanitation verification procedures, documenting actions and any corrective steps. That’s your craft.Core ResponsibilitiesExecute facility and equipment sanitation on time and to standard, aligned with the Master Sanitation Schedule (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly).Complete all SSOP-related documentation accurately, noting corrective actions as needed.Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble machinery such as conveyors, mixers, fillers, cookers, and packaging equipment.Operate sanitation and material-handling equipment: pressure washers, foaming units, COP tanks, floor scrubbers, chemical dispensing systems, power scrubbers, foamers, and a forklift.Remove trash and debris in processing, packaging, and dock areas; promptly address any spills.Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, conference rooms, and locker rooms when the contracted cleaning service is not onsite.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe chemical storage area.Extend sanitation to facility structures—walls, floors, racking, doors, and building exteriors, plus grounds, lighting, and parking lots.Collaborate with the Sanitation Supervisor to receive assignments; perform other duties as directed.Continuously eliminate product residues, allergens, and debris from equipment and facility surfaces.QualificationsEffective reading, writing, and communication skills, especially concerning safety procedures.Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and to complete documentation precisely.Proficiency in industrial cleaning equipment operation.Physical RequirementsStanding or walking for 100% of the shift.Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, with regular carrying, twisting, bending, and stooping.Every checklist you complete and every surface you sanitize supports safe, high-quality food.
