Yard & Strip Load Supervisor

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 3:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $30–$35/Hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a Yard & Strip Load Supervisor to oversee daily Tear Down, Stripping, Loading, and Yard operations. This position is responsible for leading the team, ensuring safe and efficient operations, maintaining equipment, and making sure all products are properly prepared, staged, and ready for shipment.

This is a safety-sensitive position involving the operation of heavy equipment, power tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, and yard equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, oversight, training, and development to Strip & Load and Yard team members.
• Oversee daily activities including:
  • Opening forms
  • Properly marking panels
  • Stripping panels from forms using an overhead crane
  • Loading and staging panels for shipment
• Perform all Strip & Load and Yard functions and provide backup support for team members when needed.
• Safely operate equipment including:
  • Overhead cranes
  • Forklifts
  • Yard tractors
  • Semi-tractors with manual transmissions (with and without trailers)
• Make recommendations for process improvements, staffing needs, and team development.
• Maintain accurate documentation including:
  • Daily equipment inspections
  • Shipping loads
  • Panel quality issues and repairs
  • Loading and yard activity records
• Communicate equipment repair needs with the Maintenance Department.
• Maintain organized yard and loading areas to maximize efficiency.
• Work closely with Installation Managers, Schedule Coordinators, and Production Leadership.
• Coordinate broker loads for CDL-A drivers during slower business periods.
• Assist with production plant operations as needed.
• Review and maintain daily driver logs and transportation documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, yard equipment, and other machinery.
• Strong leadership skills with experience training or supervising employees.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, climb, twist, and kneel as required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and mud.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to noise, concrete, dust, and form oil.

Required Training & Certifications

• Forklift operator certification.
• Authorized Personnel certification for Lockout/Tagout activities.
• Must follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE, including safety-toed footwear.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A license with clean MVR and current DOT medical card.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience supervising a diverse group of employees.
• Experience training, coaching, and developing team members.
• Two or more years of commercial tractor driving experience with flatbed hauling.
• Experience operating manual transmission tractor-trailers.
