Inventory Specialist

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Specialist to join our client. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts, and supporting the supply chain process. This position requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of inventory management practices within a retail or distribution center environment. Responsibilities Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability. Conduct regular inventory audits to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies. Utilize data analysis skills to forecast inventory needs and trends. Collaborate with supply chain management to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Assist in the buying and selling processes by providing accurate inventory data. Maintain accurate records of materials handling and inventory transactions in AS400 or similar systems. Work closely with retail management to support sales initiatives through effective inventory control. Prepare reports on inventory status, including stock levels, turnover rates, and potential shortages. Requirements Proven experience in supply chain management or inventory management, preferably in a retail or distribution center setting. Strong understanding of materials handling processes and best practices. Proficiency in data analysis skills to interpret inventory data effectively. Familiarity with AS400 or similar inventory management software is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with various departments.
