This position will assign daily work goals, implement policies and procedures, and recommend ideas for improvements. This position will be responsible for holding production staff accountable for company and individual goals. This role will be leading our weekday production team in our Paint and Assembly work centers.WHAT YOU'LL DODirectly responsible for employees on assigned shifts – including safety, accountability, following directions and completing assigned tasksPlan and establish work schedules, assignments and material flow sequences to meet production goalsMaintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process and adjusting where needed to ensure UA maintains OTD of 95% or higher, efficiency in each work center of 95% or higher and no past due rolling hoursEnsures effective communication amongst direct reports and peersAssess and resolve conflict situations in conjunction with Human ResourcesDocument disciplinary contacts and follows UA's progressive disciplinary policy for all direct reportsApprove/Deny vacation requests of direct reports based on company policyEnsure there is adequate coverage for any scheduled time off and any overtimeAble to flex shifts and change work schedule when required or as requested by leadershipWork with production staff to ensure there is proper communication pass down with other shifts – make sure all shifts complete this (3rd to 1st, 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd)Maintain positive relationships with all executive staff, managers, supervisors and employeesUnderstand and support all company policies and proceduresFollow safe manufacturing practices and promotes a safety cultureLead by example and acts in a professional manner at all timesMust be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 poundsMust be willing and able to safely operate a fork truck as needed or requiredWHAT YOU'LL NEED6-7 years of related production leadership experience – metal fabrication concepts and processes exposure a plusPreference will go to candidates with Welding/Fabricating and/or and proven examples of leadership experienceAble to operate overhead cranes, tape measure, basic hand tools and air toolsEffectively read and interpret blueprintsAbility to effectively communicate through written and oral communication12 Expected Behaviors of Actively Engaged Person – 100% Responsible, Trustworthy, Team Player, Clear Communicator, Empathy, Humility, Emotional Self-Control, Resolves Conflict Directly, Positive Attitude, Respects Others, Problem Solver, and Agile.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This will be an onsite position in Union, Ohio. Occasional travel may be required, approximately 10%.
