Job Title: Senior Buyer - Resin
Location: Open to candidates in the Grand Rapids area or remote within the Midwest.
Base - $100-$110k
Annual Bonus - 10%
We're looking for a Senior Buyer with real resin purchasing ownership to join a growing plastics manufacturer. This is not a transactional buying role.
You'll own the resin commodity: supplier relationships, negotiations, forecasting, and cost management, and partner closely with operations and
production.
What you'll do:
- Own purchasing strategy for polymer resins (ideally with meaningful annual spend)
- Negotiate contracts and manage key supplier relationships
- Forecast demand and align purchasing with production needs
- Drive cost savings and supply continuity
- Work in an ERP/MRP environment
What we're looking for:
- Approximately 5 years of purchasing experience
- Direct ownership of resin or polymer purchasing (not just supporting a manager)
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Comfortable with forecasting and working cross-functionally with production
