Assistant Real Property Agent

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Assistant Real Property Agent in the Department of Public Works. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to six (6) months or up to one (1) year, depending on employment status.

Under general supervision, assist and performs professional and technical real property activities involved in the acquisition of real property, right-of-way, and easements; and performs related duties as assigned.

Note to current employees: Pursuant to the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement, full-time non-probationary employees successfully completing the assessment process will be placed on an eligibility list to be used to fill vacancies in this classification for up to six (6) months. Probationary full-time, part-time, temporary employees, and external candidates who successfully complete the testing process will be placed on separate list(s), which may be used to fill vacancies for up to one (1) year. If the vacancy is not filled by full-time non-probationary employees, the separate list(s) may be utilized. External candidates, probationary full-time, part-time, and temporary City of Henderson employees will start at the first step of the salary range, if selected.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, or the equivalent and professional courses in real estate
• Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in public right-of-way and acquisition of property
• Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
• Must obtain a bond and Nevada Secretary of State notarial appointment and obtain an appointment as a Notary Public within the first ninety (90) days of employment as condition of continued employment
• Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
• Desirable: Completed courses or certification designation by the International Right-of-Way Association (IRWA)
