Medical Assistant/PhlebotomistThe Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at Oak Street Health plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, community-based healthcare. This position involves working collaboratively within care teams to provide exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient patient flow, and assisting in various medical procedures and assessments. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with patients and support their healthcare needs.ResponsibilitiesEnsures efficient patient flow by rooming patients in a timely manner and assisting the provider with staying timely on their scheduleDelivers an exceptional patient experience, and helps patients prepare for their provider visitObtains vital signs, chief complaint and reviews medicationsDelivers patient screenings per protocolsOrders supplies and stocks exam roomsConducts routine quality control checks, including infection control measures, equipment QAs, and checks for expired medication and suppliesEnsures exam rooms are clean, safe, and ready for patient visitsUnder direction of an RN, provider and/or protocol, provides telephonic support to patientsAssists providers, RNs or social workers with home based support for high risk members, as necessaryUnder direction of an RN or Provider, offers MA appropriate 'visits', such as administering vaccinations and performing procedures, including but not limited to: ABI, spirometry, EKGs, etc.Performs waived laboratory testingSchedules diagnostic testingApplies or assists with application of durable medical equipmentSupports care team with obtaining medical records, and ensuring records are scanned into the EMR per protocolsParticipates in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operationsOther duties, as assignedRequirementsCPR Certification requiredMedical Assistant certification or registration3-5 years in a Medical Assistant role preferredEMR experience required2 or more years of experience working with geriatric patientsPhlebotomy Technician Certification preferredStrong communication skills and customer service orientationDemonstrates problem-solving skills, accountability, and a flexible, positive attitudeAnticipated Weekly Hours40Time TypeFull timePay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$18.50 - $35.29This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
