Cardiac and Vascular Radiologic Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac and Vascular Radiologic Technologist to perform, assist, and complete radiographic examinations and active interventional procedures in the cardiovascular lab. This role involves using advanced medical equipment to produce high-quality digital images of the cardiovascular system as ordered by physicians.

Essential Functions

• Operate diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs of the heart and cardiovascular system, assisting in diagnostic evaluations and treatments.
• Position and immobilize patients on examining tables, ensuring adherence to specified protocols.
• Assist physicians with specialized procedures and examinations.
• Input technical factors into instruments as determined by established protocols, including radiation beam specifications and filming sequences.
• Manipulate and position x-ray tubes in response to physician instructions.
• Start automatic injections of contrast medium into patient blood vessels.
• Activate fluoroscopes and motion picture cameras to capture images that assist in guiding catheters through the cardiovascular system.
• Provide patients with detailed explanations of procedures and ensure their comfort throughout the examination.

Education and Work Experience

• Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience; Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology is preferred.
• Experience in a Cath Lab or Special Procedures is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is preferred.
• Radiologic Technologist (RT) licensure in the state of practice is required.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per facility policy is required.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification is required.
