Bookkeeper (Payroll Emphasis) - Construction Industry!

Salary: USD31 - USD34 per hour $31–$34/hour | Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire We’re partnering with a client to hire a detail-oriented Bookkeeper with a strong payroll focus. This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and wants to expand their accounting experience. What You’ll Do Process, review, and validate payroll to ensure accurate and timely compensation Maintain payroll systems, including new hires, pay rates, deductions, and classifications Verify timecards, tax withholdings, and compliance with wage laws and agreements Manage payroll tax filings, direct deposits, W-2s, and reporting requirements Prepare certified payroll, union reports, labor reports, and reconciliations Support union and prevailing wage requirements, including rate updates and audits Record journal entries and perform account reconciliations Assist with financial reporting and general accounting tasks Manage payroll funding, bank transfers, and account balances Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries What You Bring 3+ years of payroll experience Strong knowledge of payroll processes, compliance, and reporting Experience with construction or union payroll preferred Familiarity with prevailing wage requirements is a plus Additional accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Why Join?
