Barstow Community Hospital, Barstow, CA 92311, USA Overview Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services and a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist works intraoperatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgical environment for patients. The Surgical Technologist will perform as a team member, taking responsibility for personal actions to benefit patient care. Responsibilities Prepare and handle surgical supplies and equipment during operations. Assist the surgical team to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Take responsibility for personal actions that support patient care. Education & Certifications High school graduate or higher. Certification from National Association of Surgical Technologist. CPR certification (must be obtained within 2 months of hire). Experience One year of experience in a main operating room within the last two years (preferred). Basic knowledge of scrub role. Handling of instruments, setup, and anticipation of surgeons’ needs. Knowledge of autoclaves. Transporting patients. Licenses & Certifications
