Controller

Controller Our client, a rapidly growing consumer products manufacturer in the Nashville area, is seeking a Controller to join its leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a highly visible role with a company experiencing significant growth and investing in its finance and accounting organization. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller will lead the accounting function, oversee a growing team, and partner closely with operations and executive leadership to strengthen financial processes and support continued expansion. Responsibilities Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Oversee the accounting team, providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development. Maintain a strong internal control environment and continuously improve accounting processes and workflows. Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Research and apply technical accounting guidance while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. Oversee payroll and support state and local tax compliance activities. Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership to provide financial insights that support business decisions. Help optimize ERP processes and contribute to ongoing systems and process improvements. Qualifications CPA required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong foundation in technical accounting. Public accounting experience strongly preferred. Prior leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams. Experience within manufacturing or consumer products is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and month-end close. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
