Job Title: Welder and Fabricator URGENT

Pay: $26-32/hour based on experience.

Job Description

The Welder/Fabricator supports manufacturing and refurbishment operations by performing precision welding and related fabrication work on turbocharger components and assemblies. This role involves using hand welding equipment across multiple welding processes, cleaning and measuring turbocharger rotors and internal components, assessing parts for repair or replacement, fabricating stands for shipment, and balancing rotating assemblies to meet stringent quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Use templates, jigs, blueprints, and other guides to repair, modify, and fabricate components and repairs.

• Operate hand tools to cut, drill, bore, tap, ream, shape, and grind metal parts as required.

• Ensure all work is performed safely, taking care to avoid damage to tools, equipment, and components.

• Manage metals during welding to prevent distortion or burns and to meet required dimensions, tolerances, strengths, and other specifications.

• Perform welds to a very high standard so they can pass radiographic, ultrasound, magnetic particle imaging, and other non-destructive testing procedures as required by engineering.

• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and established welding procedures.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited school or institution.

• Minimum of 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and job specifications.

• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds on a regular basis.

• Capability to work in a manufacturing environment where noise and dust are present.

• Consistent use of required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear plugs.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing and production setting focused on refurbishing, troubleshooting, and overhauling turbochargers for industrial machinery. Work takes place in a shop environment with approximately 20 employees at one location and a smaller team at another facility, fostering a tight-knit and collaborative atmosphere. You will work around active equipment, rotating assemblies, and welding and fabrication tools, with exposure to noise and dust typical of manufacturing operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $66650.00/yr.
