Director of Accounting & Financial Control

An established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting & Financial Control to lead accounting and financial operations. This is a key leadership position on our team responsible for financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cost accounting, internal controls, and providing financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have significant manufacturing accounting and finance experience, with a strong understanding of standard costing, inventory, operational finance, and financial controls. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams while overseeing the day-to-day accounting function. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and operating results. Oversee standard costing, inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, manufacturing variances, and product cost analysis. Partner with operations and leadership to analyze manufacturing performance, margins, labor, overhead, inventory, and other key business drivers. Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes and provide ongoing analysis of actual performance against plan. Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting and reporting requirements. Support internal and external audits and coordinate required financial documentation. Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and other accounting functions. Manage and analyze cash flow, working capital, capital expenditures, and balance sheet activity. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, controls, and operational efficiency. Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and business decisions. Provide financial guidance and recommendations to senior leadership. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members. Collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, engineering, sales, and other functional leaders. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience. Significant accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment required. Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Plant Controller, or similar senior-level finance leader. Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting, including standard costing, inventory, variance analysis, and cost accounting. Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Demonstrated ability to partner with operational leaders and translate financial information into actionable business insights. Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr Confidential Jobs
