Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients according to standards of care and the nursing process
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, assess data, develop and implement a care plan, and evaluate progress toward outcomes
• Collaborate with the patient, family, and multidisciplinary team; supervise and coordinate activities of nursing staff as assigned
• Administer medications and therapies, assist with labor and delivery procedures, and ensure patient safety and infection control
• Participate in discharge planning to provide continuity of care; provide education to patients and families; document thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Delegate appropriately and support smooth care transitions within a fast-paced, safety-focused environment

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in California
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved vendor; ACLS and NRP certificates required
• Minimum two years of recent RN experience in obstetric/acute care settings
• BSN preferred
• Must have recent EPIC and Cerner experience and be proficient in both
• Ability to work in a hospital Labor & Delivery setting and meet unit-specific demands
